Important note:  some wall stickers are small or if ripped may be small enough to become a choking hazard.  When deciding where to place your wall stickers/ decals we recommend placing them away from baby's cot or where they can be reached by baby or child under the age of three. PLUS:  Removal requires slow and careful removing so as not to damage the walls - children rarely remove with care!  So avoid the risk of choking and damage to your walls by placing stickers out of reach.

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that they will not damage the wall on removal however all our wall stickers have been extensively tested and under normal wall conditions and careful removal they are unlikely to damage the surface.  It is recommended to test in an inconspicuous place first.  If you have freshly painted walls our recommendation is to wait at least a month to six weeks before applying this reduces the risk of damage on removal.

Wall Stickers should not be used on fragile paint/wallpaper, where there are any chips, cracks etc as the risk of damage too high.  Walls should have an undercoat and two appropriately apply coats of paint.  See below for our recommendations for wall stickers most likely not to cause damage.

The good news is there is much you can do to ensure your wall stickers work.  Our top tips would be:

- ensuring that your walls are suitable for the type and brand of wall sticker you want to use

- ensuring your paint has cured (check with your paint manufacturer but we would recommend waiting 6 weeks)

- test for as long as you can and only apply if no peeling is visable after at least 7 days.

- only apply to clean, dry, smooth walls - dust is the arch enemy of any stickers!

- take care not to overhandle the wall stickers

- do not try reusing non reusable wall stickers (check with us if you are not sure if your stickers can be reused)

- place away from heat and do not use in a room with fluctuating temperature or a room with lots of moisture

- for the first week rub your new decal/wall sticker down daily to help the adhesive take hold

- talk to us if you need advice and follow our recommendations below for which stickers to buy!

Never use wall stickers on textured or porous surfaces.  Using any of our wall stickers on textured or porous surfaces is outside our and our manufacturers recommendations.

Wash and wear paints or paints containing silicon/teflon (or other non stick ingredients) are generally unsuitable for wall stickers.  This is not whether it is a matt, satin or gloss finish - it is about the ingredients added to the paint to avoid anything sticking to it - these paints will reject many wall stickers causing failure.  It isn't the wall stickers failing as such but the paint working.  It is therefore very important to know your paint surface and, if you do not, to test appropriately prior to applying wall stickers.  Some brands provide test stickers or we maybe able to help with samples.

This depends a lot on the product brand as some are simple peel and stick (ie RoomMates, Little Chipipi, Cocoon Couture, Fowalls, Blik Restick) and some are transfer/applique (Blik, Wall Decor, Words as Art).

Some brands such as Bosco Bear and Blik have both Applique and Peel and Stick types.  Peel and Stick are the easiest to apply please view the videos below on how to apply the two varieties to make sure you are happy with the application process of your chosen design.  All products come with installation instructions.

We have found that sometimes wall stickers will peel, however testing and following all our and the manufacturers instructions will reduce the risk of this happening.  Often peeling occurs on textured walls or walls with paints with non stick properties - neither of which are recommended with our wall stickers/decals.

It is recommended that you rub down your new wall art every day for a week after installing as this will help the bonding process and reduce the risk of peeling.

Direct heat can cause the adhesive to soften so we do not recommend installing wall stickers by heat pumps or other heating appliances.  Keep in mind that we recommend using a hairdryer to help remove wall stickers - a heat pump or similar will have the same impact on wall stickers!

Applying to uncured paint can also cause the wall stickers to peel - please ensure that the paint is not just touch dry but cured by waiting at least a month prior to applying wall stickers.

Ensuring your walls are clean and dry and not overhandling the wall sticker at the time of application is also important to ensure you do not compromise the adhesive.

BoscoBear walls stickers CAN be used on wallpaper but the surface must be smooth and non textured (not even a little bit of texture!).

Some ranges are reusable please check the brand information provided prior to purchasing.  Large designs and applique/transfer type of decals/stickers are not able to be reused.  Delicate and intricate designs may not be able to be removed easily and in one piece and may be damaged on removal.  We do not recommend attempting to reuse these designs.  If in doubt please ask.

Repositionable wall stickers such as the Forwalls brand can be repositioned once at the time of installing but cannot be reused after this.

Recommending wall stickers for rentals is tricky - firstly you do not know how well painted it is or whether it contains silicon/teflon etc and you most certainly don't want to damage the walls!  We are fairly confident that RoomMates Stikarounds, Little Chipipi and Wall Graphics are safer to use for temporary accommodation but there is still a small risk involved and we recommend testing in an inconspicuous area first and feel free to ask us for advice and samples.

Some packs such as Wall Decor and Bosco Bear come with a sample you can trial first and if unsuitable for your walls the pack maybe returned for a refund*.  If you are ordering a brand that does not contain a test sticker use the surrounding white material to test first or ask us if we have a sample we can send you.  To test effectively you should apply the sample and leave for a minimum a week to ensure that there is no peeling at all prior to applying the wall stickers.

*  refund is only valid if the pack is able to be returned in brand new, mint condition - only minus the test sample.  Instructions, unused wall stickers and all packaging must be returned in saleable condition.  If you wish to return please contact us to advise within 14 days of receiving the product and we will provice return address and other information required for a return.  We cannot refund freight charges.

All wall stickers are intended for normal, interior application ie bedrooms and living areas, unless stated otherwise on the manufacturer's information. Bathrooms are not generally recommended.  Some wall stickers can be used on windows/glass, for example RoomMates and Wall Decor.  Some wall decals can be applied outside also, such as Wall Decor.   If you are not sure whether your wall surface is suitable please check the manufacturers information (see links below) or contact us.

It is important to follow all instructions provided for applying and removing the wall decals. The most important aspect to removing the decals is to remove them very slowly and gently - if they are ripped off and not gently eased of the walls then damage can occur.  A hairdryer on a very low setting can help soften the adhesive of a more stubborn decal and assist with removal.

Please view the specific brand information on the product you are purchasing for more specific suitability information, all the wall stickers are different and just because one type of wall sticker has worked on your wall it doesn't guarantee another will.  Click on these links below for manufacturer information:

Bosco Bear
Bright Star Kids
Cocoon Couture
Little Chipipi
The Wall Sticker Company
Wall Decor
Words as Art

We recommend all our decals but this recommendation list is to help you decide which feature is most important to you and therefore help you decide on the correct brand for your walls.

Reusable: RoomMates are very removable, reusable and, in our experience non damaging to painted surfaces. Little Chipipi is a high quality, reusable wall sticker brand that we recommend very highly - we know of no reports of this brand failing to adhere or causing damage on removal.  Wall Graphics are made from a fabric material that is guaranteed to stick to 99% of smooth surfaces and is also reusable.  All three of these brands are recommended most highly. If you are intending to move or reuse the stickers in the future please keep the backing sheets as these can be used to store the stickers safely.

You are renting, don't know your paint type or know you have a wash 'n wear paint:  RoomMates, Little Chipipi and Wall Graphics.  Based on our experience these brands are less likely to suffer rejection from paints and the adhesive is just tacky (not as strong as Blik or Wall Decor decals) so less likely to cause damage on removal.  Plus they are reusable so can shift if you do!  Please always test first.

Removable:  All our wall stickers are removable and all have been tested to ensure they remove without damaging the wall surface, however some wall stickers have a gentler adhesive and therefore are less likely to damage on removal - our recommendations are RoomMates, Wall Graphics, Little Chipipi, Bosco Bear, The Wall Sticker Company and Forwalls.

Wall stickers with a gentler adhesive will remove easier and may be kinder to paint surfaces however they are also more sensitive to paint types.

Guarantees:  Generally we can't guarantee a wall sticker will work but with testing you can have some confidence of success.  Always test for a minimum of seven days and do not apply kit if there is any peeling or lifting (return them for a refund instead!).  Some brands (like Bosco Bear & Wall Decor) recommend testing for two days, we personally recommend testing for at least a week before applying the wall stickers - it is just a safer bet!

Please note we cannot refund due incorrect installation or application to unsuitable wall surfaces including textured walls or walls containing non stick functionality such as teflon/silicon or something similar.

Can’t see your question here?

Simply send us your questions and we will be more than happy to help.  While we cannot guarantee that the wall stickers/decals you purchase will work on your wall surface, we know that extensive testing has shown that with correct application they work very successfully - see our Customer Photo Page for many examples!

Please do not assume suitability based on a different brand of wall sticker as all decals/stickers have very different adhesive qualities and one may work well on your wall surface and another may not - this is not an indication of quality but just the different adhesive qualities making some products more suitable for certain wall surfaces than others.

If you experience any problems with the wall stickers you have purchased please tell us immediately - we maybe able to help or our supplier maybe able to.  If you find a fault or have any problems with your decals DO NOT put them up, especially if they are not working as per the instructions!  We can't guarantee the wall stickers will work on every wall surface but we will always do our best to help.
